As an Upper Moreland Township School Board member, Karen has proven her commitment to providing our children with a quality education while still respecting taxpayers. In Harrisburg, she will do the same by fighting for the funding schools need, less standardized testing, and a greater voice for parents and taxpayers.
Karen believes that healthcare and health insurance should cost less and provide more freedom to patients. She'll fight for greater flexibility in insurance buying, stand up to the massive bureaucracy and special interests that drive up costs, to utilize technology to increase access and affordability, and to make sure doctors and patients are in charge of treatment.
Karen believes that government should focus on priorities and work to spend every penny of our tax dollars wisely - especially with PA facing big budget deficits due to the coronavirus shutdown. As Representative, she will use her real-world finance experience to control spending and debt. She will also work for ways to provide property tax relief - especially to retired seniors.
Before the coronavirus shutdown, our economy was strong. Karen knows we can get there again - safely and smartly - and help the struggling small businesses and working families across our community. As Representative, she will use her real-world business experience to promote policies that make it easier for small businesses to create jobs and grow our economy. That's why PA's leading small business groups - the NIFB and ChamberPAC - endorse her.
Karen knows that protecting our environment and addressing the drinking water issues caused by the former Willow Grove Naval Air Station is good for our families, our neighborhoods and our future. She will fight for common sense initiatives that protect green space and improve water quality. And she will stand up to the federal government to make them fix the damage they caused.
Karen is a wife, mom and lifelong resident of our community who understands that we all want to feel safe. In Harrisburg, she will support School Safety Grants to improve student safety, address the opioid crisis to help reduce drug crime, and provide our police with the tools they need to do their job and keep our neighborhoods safe. That's why she's endorsed by the Fraternal Order of Police - Lodges 14 and 37.
Karen has spent more than 20 years working as volunteer to make our community stronger and better for everyone. As Representative, she will continue this effort by working to secure important grant funding for infrastructure needs, environmental initiatives, parks and play grounds, our emergency responders, and more.
Karen believes that state government should work for us, not for the politicians. As Representative, she will support real reforms that make sure it does like a Fair Redistricting Commission, a real "No-Budget, No Pay" law, and an end to the unaccountable per diem system.
